Yes there could be a role for our library service to participate in slamming the boards especially for questions that relate to the local area or local special interests such as Country Music or anything equine.

With very high staff work loads , staff find they must deal with the "must do" tasks such as answering questions directed to the service rather than out there on the web. I cannot see that slamming the boards will be an option in the short term for our library service . It is great that librarians are doing this as it raises the profile of libraries and demonstrates their capacity to provide authoritive answers. Perhaps it is an activity for the very dedicated "after work hours".
